Introduction
It is immense pleasure to present the annual report of “Kadamba Charitable Foundation” for the year 2011-12. During the reporting report period the following activities have been carried out.
1. Integrated Child Development (Creche Programme) :
The integrated child development programme was launched in 1999. There are 25 crèche centers working in remote areas of North Kanara District. Out of which 20 aided by “Central Social Welfare Board” New Delhi.

2. Family Counsilling Center (Mahila Sahayavani)
Since the women and the child development is a priority service sector of the Kadamba. We have started “Family Counseling Centre” 2007 at “Kumta” of Uttara Kannada” District.
“Family Counseling Centre” is Consists of one Counselor (Female) and Three Social Worker (Two Female & One Male). The centre is running 24 X 7.
Now our centre consider as one of the best counseling centre in our region. And we did counseling about more than 450 woman and their families respective successfully.
And the centre is funded by “Women and Child Development Department” Govt. of Karnataka. Total expenditure incurred during the financial year is 2,16,017.00
3. Self Help Group training Programme
“Kadamba” is providing training to the Members of the “Self Help Group” which facilitate to manage their affairs in an efficient manner. Training is imparted in various levels depending upon the need of the groups self help management programme.

4.Agriculture and Horticulture Development Programme (Cocoa Area Expansion Programme) :
To create awareness among the farmers of “North Kanara” District, the “Kadamba” has taken aggressive steps in agriculture as well as Horticulture sector. Providing necessary information and financial support as well as giving assistance to preparing the project proposals for the State / Central sponsored schemes.
Basically the region known for “Areca Nut” and “Coconut” gardens. The “COCOA” cultivation has been special thrust. As a second crop which as familiar among the local farmer since long back. But was neglected because of various reasons. “Kadamba” has taken initiatives and put efforts to rejuvenate the cocoa gardens.
The “Cocoa” Development mission has been initiated with the assistance of “Directorate of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development” Cochin, Horticultural Department, Govt. ok Karnataka and Cadbury India Ltd.,
In this programme we are conducted two District level seminar on Cocoa cultivation and 25 corner meetings with farmers.
For the reporting period i.e 2011-12 we have distributed one lakh F1 Hybrid Cocoa seedlings to 374 farmers in 200 HA at free of cost under “Cocoa Area Expansion Programme”. And the subsidy will be given in three years for easily maintenance of cocoa gardens.

5. Capacity Building Training To Village Health & Sanitation Committee Members (VHSC) :
This programme was started on 1st March 2010. This project is for the period of 24 months. And funded by Department of Health and family welfare, Govt of Karnataka.

6. Health Referal Services:
Kadamba has started health referral service on 2002. As on 31.3.2012 kadamba has sent 4600 patients to KSHEMA Hospital, Mangalore at free of cost.
7. Solar Lanteen Distribution Programme:
Kadamba has distributed free of cost solar lantern to the rural people where there is no electricity connection. During the reporting period kadamba has distributed 200 no,s solar lantern. Programme was conducted in association of Supra Energy Pvt Ltd.,
8. Insurance For Agriculture Labour:
Kadamba Has started accidental insurance coverage to unorganized sector labor. This programme was conducted in association of National Insurance Company Ltd., during the reporting period kadamba has covered 1800 agriculture labour.
