Disaster Management

Monsoon in western ghat region is really one of the heavenly experiences on the earth. But in 2009, it was a disaster. First time in the history of Uttara Kannada the monsoon took lives instead of giving. 24 people lost their lives in this disaster, particularly in Karwar, Siddapur, and Dandeli and these regions witnessed huge damage in every sector.

The Kadamba rushed in to the field immediately much before the local government could. Our volunteers visited all disaster affected areas within a few hours and started relief works spontaneously.

Kadamba distributed cloths, food grains and other immediate daily requirements in flood affected areas are like Karwar, Siddapur and Dandeli for more than 5000 people.
